Laser Hair Removal by Medical Professionals

In celebration of National Nurses Day, I’m excited and so proud to share with you the standout differences of receiving your smoothest skin (ever) via Laser Hair Removal by Registered Nurses at Plush Laser in Birmingham, Michigan and Scottsdale, Arizona.

As our Plush Laser Founder + CEO and Registered Nurse with over 15 years in the medical aesthetics industry (10 of those years specialized in laser cosmetic services) it is so important to me to uphold only the highest standards of excellence (as the laser experts) when it comes to the treatments we deliver to our guests at Plush.

And, did you know (dependent on the state) that Laser Hair Removal is considered the practice of medicine? Let’s start with our standards of safety and training for our Registered Nurses at Plush - and why this SO important to receive both safe and effective Laser Hair Removal treatments.

Safety

A Registered Nurses level of expertise, critical thinking, and collaboration with our Medical Directors on any custom individual needs are paramount for ensuring the safest (and most effective) Laser Hair Removal treatments possible. Especially in operating our FDA-cleared #1 device for Laser Hair Removal – Candela Gentlemax Pro to safely and effectively treat all skin types for permanent hair removal.

Your Registered Nurse has studied the human body for years in their education and practice and is going to be far more seasoned at any handling considerations, cautions and contraindications to treatment – making sure we’ve minimized any potential risks during treatments to the fullest extent possible.

Training & Education

Before Plush Laser, I was a Laser Hair Removal Preceptor and Trainer for Registered Nurses – responsible for onboarding and training a team of RN’s and investing in their personal and professional growth and development throughout their career. It was of the utmost importance to me when developing our team of Registered Nurses + Laser Experts that we create the support and management in developing our clinical team at Plush from our incredibly impressive Lead Clinical Trainer who makes our entire clinical world go round today to our Medical Directors and Training & Education partners at Candela & Skinbetter Science.

In order to become a Registered Nurse one must spend several years to complete required prerequisite classes to prepare for application to an Accredited Nursing Program. The first happiest day as an RN is gaining acceptance of your admission application – the very first step! Once beginning Nursing School you’ll spend 4 years of extremely hard work and dedication to your clinical education and training to provide patient care by way of didactic training, hands on lab and in hospital clinical rounds.

After successful completion of your education, you then study and prepare vigorously to pass your state board examination. The second happiest day as an RN – receiving the news you have successfully passed your NCLEX state board examination and can now practice and begin your career as a Registered Nurse. Most RN’s spend years working in a clinical (inpatient hospital or outpatient) setting prior to their venture in aesthetics. While not all – I knew throughout my training and previous experience in medical aesthetics that I would begin specializing in aesthetic medicine as soon as I became a Registered Nurse.

In addition to the above years of training and education, every Registered Nurse at Plush undergoes the basic minimum requirements by the state for compliance - ie in Arizona this requires a 24 hour Certified Laser Technician (CLT) course. While anyone who completes this course (including non medical professionals – yes, you do not need to be a medical professional according to the state to provide these treatments so it is very important to know who is performing these services on you) can perform laser treatments with this alone - this is just the very first step Plush RN training.

After a licensed Registered Nurse becomes a Certified Laser Technician our Plush Laser RN Training with our Lead Clinical Trainer officially begins. Each RN will receive a minimum of an additional 60 hours of internal training with our Plush RN trainers and Candela educators – including didactic and hands on 1-on-1 specialized training. Once a new Plush RN completes their 80+ hours of initial training, passes their written & hands-on testing requirements and our RN trainer is overly confident in their ability to perform Laser Hair Removal treatments with the utmost highest standards of safety and efficacy they are more than ready to begin delivering the plush experience.

What is outlined above is a longer and more intensive training period for Laser Hair Removal than any other company in our industry. This aligns with our core value ‘we are the laser experts – and we proudly do it best’

At Plush Laser we believe in continuous ongoing education, working very closely with our fellow industry leaders to always be the most up to date on the latest best practices in Laser Hair Removal.

Comfort

If the word ‘bedside manner’ sounds familiar and we know that our Registered Nurses in the world do it best – just imagine how comfortable and cared for they make you feel during your laser treatments!

There’s additionally something to be said about feeling at ease when receiving a medical procedure (often times in intimate areas) when you know your provider is a licensed Registered Nurse – it can make all the difference in the world to feel rest assured that you are in the best hands (possible).

Your Registered Nurse is always going to be forthcoming with the utmost integrity in an ethical practice – every guest at Plush begins with a Free Consultation where you’ll receive an assessment by an RN to determine your treatability from both a results and health intake standpoint. If you are not a good candidate for treatment, we will always be honest and won’t sell you a service that is not best suited for you. However – if you are a great candidate, then you are on your way to enjoying the smoothest skin of your life (for good)!

Plush Laser locations in both Birmingham, Michigan and Scottsdale, Arizona each have over 100 5 star google reviews and we KNOW one of the #1 reasons comes straight from the heart-warming experiences they share with their Registered Nurse.
